Our mission is to provide a community art gallery featuring the art of Nevada County artists, focusing on those who have not shown professionally, or who do not have many opportunities to show locally.
There are many artists in this county, and we want to give the community a chance to see local talent as well as participate in workshops and events at affordable prices. We hold silent auctions benefiting local non-profit organizations, participate in Art Walks and Open Studios, and hold the annual Holiday Art Show from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve.
The Osborn Woods Gallery is located at the top of the Miners Foundry building, at 325 Spring Street in Nevada City (just across from the new KVMR radio station building). It was named for two wonderful people who made the Miners Foundry what it is today.
In April 2016, Juliette Morris Williams became Artist-in-Residence and Curator at the Gallery.
In December 2017, the gallery formed a collective of six members, Juliette Morris Williams, Gene and Judy Crowe, Duncan Linthicum, Al Martinez and Jenny Snyder. This enables the gallery to be open five days a week, starting in January 2018.
The 2019 Collective members are: Juliette Morris Williams, Gene and Judy Crowe, Duncan Linthicum, Al Martinez, Giulia Sbernini and Vilina Hutter.
Group shows are held year round, focusing on First Fridays, and Open Studio events. For information on applying to shows at the Gallery, please visit the 'Call to Artists' page.
